The State Department of Education (Seec) acquired new equipment for schools in the state education network. The investment exceeds R$66 million.

The purchase covers a wide list of items, from computers to basic furniture for classrooms and common areas. Among the highlights are state-of-the-art computers, refrigerators, water fountains, freezers, dishes, counters, tables and chairs.

“Investing in adequate equipment is essential to provide an excellent educational experience. This is an important part of an ongoing effort to modernize our schools and ensure that students and teachers have the resources they need to reach their full potential”, highlights Professor Socorro Batista, Secretary of Education.

Part of the investment, around R$12 million, is being directed towards the acquisition of equipment and kitchen utensils, intended to equip not only existing school units, but also new Institutes of Professional Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in the Rio Grande do Norte (Iern).

The amount will be distributed to more than 580 schools in the state network. With this acquisition, the department hopes not only to improve the conditions for preparing and distributing school meals, but also to guarantee greater quality and food safety for students.
