Fiems and partners launch MS Pela Vida campaign to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul – A Gazeta News

Due to the floods that are plaguing Rio Grande do Sul, Fiems, in partnership with the State Government and Energisa, come together to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul. It is the “MS Pela Vida – Unidos pelo Rio Grande do Sul” campaign, which aims to collect items for the victims of the floods in that State. The action has the support of Viação Cruzeiro do Sul and Vitlog Transportes.

Rio Grande do Sul is facing the greatest climate tragedy in its history. According to Civil Defense, as of this Wednesday (08/05), there are already 414 cities in Rio Grande do Sul affected by the disaster, out of a total of 497 municipalities in the State. Authorities report 95 deaths, 128 people missing and 372 injured. The capital, Porto Alegre, still has flooded streets in several neighborhoods, and the airport and bus station are inoperative.

Fiems has two locations to receive donations in Campo Grande: Garagem Building and Albano Franco Convention Center. Campaign partners also receive donations at points in the capital and in the interior of the State.

Items that can be donated:

• Non-perishable foods (items that make up the basic food basket)
• Mineral water
• clothing items (women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and footwear)
• Bed linen (sheet, pillowcase, blanket, quilt and duvet)
• Bath items (bath and face towel)
• Cleaning products (soap, detergent, disinfectant, bleach)
• Personal hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, sanitary pad, children’s and geriatric diapers)
• Pet food (dogs and cats)
• Mattresses*
• Product bales*

*Due to the volume, they must be delivered exclusively to the Albano Franco Convention Center.
