The Israeli Embassy in Brazil stated that the relatives of Alma Bohadana, an Israeli tourist who fell from a wall in Santa Teresa, in the central region of Rio, were notified of the young woman’s death. Her body is also in the process of being transferred with the support of the diplomatic representation.

This Wednesday, the Capital Homicide Police interviewed three people to investigate Alma’s death. In addition to the Israeli friend who was with her at the time of the accident, two other witnesses also testified who saw the boy go down the stairs to help the young woman.

Friend Dan Hen presented two versions. The first was that Alma was frightened by the approach of a motorbike and threw herself from a height of around 15 meters. Afterwards, the boy stated that he and the young woman were approached by men in a red car, who allegedly demanded her belongings. That’s when she lost her balance and fell into the wooded area. The two were returning from a trail to Christ the Redeemer at the time of the approach.

Firefighters were called at around seven on Monday night, but Alma suffered several fractures and died before help arrived. The Civil Police also carried out an investigation at the scene and searched for images from security cameras to try to identify the alleged car that had approached the two, and the vehicle’s escape route. According to investigators, no hypothesis has been ruled out.

The man who was with her, Dan Hen, had just met Alma, who had been traveling alone across the country for about 10 days. A representative from the Israeli Consulate accompanied the young people to the police station, but they did not want to speak to the press.

Police are still looking for relatives and friends who can provide further information.
