Manaus (AM) – Ewerton Costa de Araújo, aged 21, was arrested this Wednesday (8), in Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus), for the qualified homicide of Evandro Costa de Araújo, aged 49. The victim was the author’s uncle, and was killed on January 15th of this year, in the Biribiri neighborhood, in the municipality.
The arrest was carried out by the Amazonas Civil Police (PC-AM), through the municipality’s Interactive Police Station (DIP).
According to delegate Mauro Soares, head of the police unit, the crime occurred in the residence where they lived, after an argument. “The author and his uncle were drug users and had a disagreement because Ewerton did not respect his grandmother, the victim’s mother. The individual stabbed his uncle,” said Soares.
According to the delegate, the author was arrested in the São João do Meriti region, in the rural area of the municipality.
Ewerton Costa de Araújo will be charged with qualified homicide and will be available to the courts.

Jardean Amorim dos Santos, aged 19, and Cleociney Monteiro Coelho, aged 32, known as “Tuti”, were arrested this Saturday (20), by the Interactive Police Station (DIP) of Coari (363 kilometers from Manaus) , for the robbery of Vicente Paiva dos Santos, who was 28 years old. A 17-year-old teenager was arrested.
According to delegate José Barradas, head of the police unit, the crime occurred on April 12 of this year, in the Divino Espírito Santo community, a rural area of the municipality.
