Property owners must pay attention to the due date for the installments of the Urban Property and Land Property Tax (IPTU) from 2024. The single installment or the first installment of the tax and the Public Cleaning Fee (TLP) are due between Monday (13) and Friday (17), according to the end of registration.

Taxpayers who choose to pay in a single installment are entitled to a 10% discount, as long as they have no late payments. To pay in installments, the value of each share cannot be less than R$20. If the sum of the IPTU and TLP is less than R$40, payment must be made in full.

Tax collection is essential to finance security, health and education services for the population of the Federal District.

According to the coordinator of direct taxes at the Secretariat of Economy, Heber Niemeyer Botelho, last year, R$ 1,162,084,939.49 collected were invested in infrastructure works and resources for the construction of schools, health units and the activities of security forces .

The forecast for this year is that almost 1 million owners will pay the tax. “IPTU covers the main expenses of public administration and essential investments for the population. Such as infrastructure works, basic sanitation, regularization of condominiums, construction of new hospitals and vehicle maintenance”, he details.

The due dates for the tax installments are defined according to the final number (check digit) of the property’s registration in the Federal District Real Estate Registry (CIDF).

The owner who did not receive the payment slip via the Post Office must issue the document via the Revenue service portal or through the Economy DF app. Click here to see the step by step.
