Alagoas is among the 14 Brazilian states, and the seven in the Northeast region, with works scheduled for the transmission auction of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) in 2024. The companies Centrais Elétricas do Norte (Eletronorte) and the FIP Development Fund Warehouse will be responsible for the construction and operation of power transmission lines in Alagoas.

The Aneel auction was held on the 28th, in São Paulo, and the companies won lots that included works in the state. The objective of the auction was to select the companies responsible for the construction and operation of 6,400 kilometers of transmission lines in Brazilian states. The Ministry of Mines and Energy foresees investments of R$18.2 billion and the creation of almost 35 thousand direct jobs in the construction of the 65 projects.

The works will take place in Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Ceará, Piauí, Tocantins, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Catarina, with completion deadlines between 36 and 72 months.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

According to data released by the National System Operator (ONS), renewable energy accounted for 92% of the country’s generation in February. Hydroelectric, wind and solar plants, as well as distributed micro and mini generation systems, helped drive this scenario.

In Alagoas, according to the Energy Balance (BEAL), made available by the Superintendency of Energy Policies of the State Secretariat for Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (Sedics), the energy matrix has 87% of its primary energy production being predominantly clean. In the state, sugarcane biomass and hydroelectric plants lead production.

For Secretary Alice Beltrão, the renewable energy sector has attracted more and more actions and investments. “The energy sector has been transformed into economic and social development, bringing more jobs and income to the people of Alagoas. With these works, we will expand our presence in the production of clean energy.”
