During a live interview with RBS Notícias, Leite said that the federal government has already sent two Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraftbut that the state needed support to rescue stranded people.

Because, just as we went through extraordinary situations last year and emergency situations arise here and there in the country at all times, we must give an idea of ​​the gravity of what Rio Grande do Sul is experiencing”, said Leite.

Earlier, on a social network, Eduardo Leite wrote a message directed to Lula, asking for help “immediately” It is “already”, with the words highlighted in capital letters.

“President Lula, please IMMEDIATELY send all possible air support to RS. We need to rescue hundreds of people NOW in dozens of municipalities who are in an emergency situation due to the intense rains that have already occurred and which will continue in the coming days”, published the governor .

“I am sure that we will be able to count on this union of efforts to rescue the affected population, which is our absolute priority at this moment”, wrote Leite.

“I spoke with the ministries of Integration, Defense and Minister Paulo Pimenta and, whatever is necessary, the federal government will join the efforts of the state government and city halls to get us through and overcome this difficult moment, reflections of climate change that affect the planet”, replied Lula.
