A head-on collision between a Fiat Strada vehicle and a Gol left one person dead and two others injured on ES 080, rural area of Colatina, in the northwest of Espírito Santo, on Saturday night (30). According to the Military Police, Strada was heading towards São Domingos do Norte to Colatina when, close to a restaurant, Gol, which was heading in the opposite direction, overtook unduly, causing the crash. The Gol driver died at the scene of the accident. He got stuck in the hardware and had to be removed by the Fire Department.
The driver and passenger of the Fiat Strada were injured. One of them was treated by firefighters and taken to Silvio Avidos Hospital, in Colatina. According to the corporation, he was lucid, oriented and complained of pain in his head and chest, due to the airbag deployment. The other, in turn, was taken care of by the Samu team.
According to the Military Police, the driver of the Fiat Strada took a breathalyzer test, which came back negative. According to the corporation, he was not qualified. The PM also added, in a note, that the Gol had expired its licensing and was therefore towed.
The body of the victim, a 48-year-old man, was sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Colatina, for an autopsy and, later, released to his family.
