All cases are investigated by the city’s Homicide Police Station (DH/Feira de Santana), which does not confirm a relationship between the crimes. See what is known about the deaths:
- Homicide of João Victor Venas
Around 8pm on Monday, João Victor de Alcântara Venas, 19 years oldwas shot dead in the Rua Nova neighborhood.
According to the Civil Police, reports indicate that a man riding a red motorcycle stopped the vehicle near the young man and fired shots.
Two projectile fragments and six cassettes of 9mm ammunition were found, but the perpetrator of the crime is still unknown. Images from security cameras in the region should help clarify the circumstances of the homicide.
- Murder of Taylon Oliveira
Shortly after the death of João Victor Venas, Taylon Fernandes Oliveira, 18 years old, was murdered. The boy was close to home, on Rua Votuporanguense, in the Papagaio neighborhood, when he was the target of the criminal action.
The DH duty was called after the body was found on the street and, during the investigation, traces of gunshots were found on the victim’s back, chest and arms.
As in the previous case, three .38 caliber cases and an ammunition projectile were found. Authorship and motivation for the crime are being investigated.
- Homicide of brothers Matheus and Darlisson
Later, around 11pm, a double homicide was recorded in the Campo Limpo neighborhood. The victims were the brothers Matheus Caíque Silva Santos, 21, and Darlisson Felipe Silva Santos, 18.
According to the broadcaster, the crime occurred inside the boys’ residence, on Rua Concórdia V.
When the police arrived at the scene, Matheus was already dead. His body was found on the first floor of the house, with gunshot wounds to his head, back and right hand.
Darlisson was taken to a polyclinic, but he did not survive his injuries.
Witnesses said that the perpetrators arrived at the scene of the crime in a white HB20 car. Two men allegedly came out and fired shots at the brothers. They then fled the scene.
So far, the suspects have not been identified. The crime is under investigation.
Weekend homicides
Before the four deaths recorded on Monday (29), the Civil Police had already recorded three other homicides in the municipality.
The first homicide was that of João Victor Garcez dos Santos, 26 years old. The case occurred in the Queimadinha neighborhood, around 7pm on Saturday (28).
According to the Feira de Santana police, the suspects arrived in a white car and shot the victim several times. The case is suspected to be related to drug trafficking.
The second case happened in Campo Limpo, at 10:30 pm. According to the police, Matheus Santos de Abril, 25 years oldwas shot during an attempted robbery.
The suspects arrived in a red car, announced the robbery and soon after shot him. Another person who was with Matheus was hit in the leg and taken to a health unit. She is not at risk of death.
None of Matheus’s belongings were taken by the suspects. The case is investigated by the police.
The third homicide took place during the early hours of the morning, in front of an events venue in the Aviária neighborhood. The victim was identified as Cláudio Falcão Brito Júnior, 19 years old.
According to police, the suspects entered the party the victim was at and looked for him. Cláudio initially managed to escape, but was caught by the suspects and shot dead.
