The new Esquadrão brand uniforms for 2024 have already been defined and will be launched in the coming days by the club. But, thinking about the year 2025, Bahia is expected to sign a contract with Puma.
The main reason is that the German sports equipment supplier is global partner of the City Group and currently dresses most of the teams that are part of the conglomerate, including Manchester City, Melbourne City, Girona, Palermo, Bolivar, Montevideo City Torque and Mumbai City.
Since 2023, the brand name has been linked to a future agreement with Bahia. In July last year, journalist PVC even said that Tricolor would wear Puma after the end of the contract with Palmeiras, in December 2024.
This is because the company and the Alviverde club have an exclusivity agreement until the end of this year. That is, Puma can only wear Palmeiras in Brazilian football.
However, the subject gets a new chapter this time.
After months of negotiations, Puma and Palmeiras signed a new agreement valid from 2025 to 2027. The company covered the offer made by Adidas to continue sponsoring the São Paulo team, as reported by Nosso Palestra.
The information raises the hypothesis that it is likely that Puma signed a non-exclusive contract with Palmeiras.
It is only in this way that Bahia and other Brazilian football teams will be able to dress in 2025.
Puma plans to sponsor more Brazilian teams in 2025
The renowned website Footy Headlines, specializing in football shirts, has already published that Puma has agreements with Red Bull Bragantino, Santos and Bahia itself.
In the case of RB Bragantino, Puma has already signed an agreement to supply sports equipment to Red Bull Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg. Therefore, the objective is to close with the trio of teams that are part of the franchise.
In the case of Santos, one of the reasons would be the influence of Neymar, who is the main name sponsored by the company.
Corinthians, which has a long relationship with Nike, was also on Puma’s radar if there was no agreement with Palmeiras.
Amounts paid by Puma to Palmeiras
According to PVC, in its column this Tuesday (2), it publishes that Puma sees Palmeiras as its priority in the country.
With the new contract, Puma will pay R$50 million to Palmeiras, which could reach R$60 million if it reaches established goals.
