The Taquaral Gym will be the stage for a special meeting between idols from different generations of Brazilian volleyball next Saturday (May 4), starting at 8pm.
Organized by former lifter Maurício Lima, the charity game “Mãos Solidárias” will feature the presence of seven Olympic champions, as well as other big names in the sport, and will have the live and free transmission from ge.
The 2,400 tickets will be available for virtual exchange from noon on Wednesday on the Vôlei Renata website. Entry will be 1kg of non-perishable food and a coat. Whatever is collected will be donated to the Campinas Food Bank and also to the 2024 Warm Clothing Campaign.
In addition to Maurício Lima (gold in Barcelona-1992 and Athens-2004), the following will participate in the party:
- André Heller (champion in 2004);
- Maurício Souza (gold at Rio-2016);
- Maurício Borges (gold in Rio-2016 and currently in Vôlei Campinas);
- Anderson (gold in Athens-2004 and coach who won the last Superliga with Sesi-Bauru);
- Marcelo Negrão (gold in Barcelona-1992);
- Fofão (gold for the women’s team in Beijing-2008);
- Virna (bronze in Atlanta-1996 and Sidney-2000)
These stars from the past and present will play for the “Golden Team”, with Marcelo Negrão as coach.
On the other side of the court, Horácio Dileo will command highlights from the new generation in the “Yellow Team”, such as Adriano, Lukinha, Demian González and Léo, runners-up in the Superliga with Campinas. Central Judson and libero Alê, who played for Campinas and are with the Brazilian team, are also part of the team.
– It is a very special event, not only because it brings together so many good football people and winners together, but also because it combines social issues with sport. In addition to what we do at Vôlei Renata, we will expand solidarity actions in this game, expanding help to people in situations of social vulnerability. We are looking forward to this party, which also crowns the great campaign we did this season – says Maurício Lima, Campinas ambassador.
