In celebration of Signal Iduna Park’s 50th anniversary, Borussia Dortmund launched a kit in honor of their stadium. The German club shared a little about the history of the arena’s history on its social networks. Check it out in the video below.

Built as one of the stages for the 1974 World Cup, the 81,365 capacity stadium also hosted games at the 2006 World Cup, including the Brazilian national team. In half a century, the place has already undergone three major renovations (1992, 1997 and 2000).

On social media, Borussia Dortmund made several publications commemorating the date, remembering some of the club’s idols who passed through the club and the stadium, such as Marco Reus, Weidenfeller, Rosicky and Brazilian Dedê.

In 2015, Signal Iduna Park was considered the best stadium in the world, according to the British newspaper “The Times”. The publication took into account the stadium’s atmosphere and the high average attendance.
