The most recent Atlas/CNN poll for the city council of Manaus (AM), released this Friday (26), reveals a technical tie between three candidates, indicating a dynamic scenario that promises many twists and turns when the campaign really takes off.

The capital of Amazonas has been the scene of movements that could change the picture of the dispute between the cities with the largest voters in the country in this round of surveys.

While last year Mayor David Almeida (Avante) led the polls, he now sees his opponents numerically ahead or tied within the margin of error, with him recording 20.7%. Part of his drop in popularity is due not only to criticism of his administration, but also to suspicions of involvement in irregularities – something he denies.

A competitor for Almeida’s re-election is the young federal deputy Amom Mandel (Citizenship), aged 23, who already surprised in the elections two years ago by becoming the federal deputy with the most votes for Amazonas in 2022, now appearing with 21.1%.

Another challenger who holds a mandate in the Chamber of Deputies is Captain Alberto Neto (PL), who has the support of former president Jair Bolsonaro in the dispute and has gained prominence throughout the pre-campaign, currently registering 17.8%, therefore, tied for first place at the limit of the margin of error.

In the survey, 825 people were interviewed between April 18th and 23rd. The poll was registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under registration AM-04223/2024, has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of three percentage points plus or minus.
