Wanted in Santa Catarina is arrested on the border with Paraguay – Interior

Drug trafficker Diego Ricardo Pereira, aged 28, was arrested this Sunday (5) in Pedro Juan Caballero, a Paraguayan city on the border with Ponta Porã, 313 kilometers from Campo Grande.

According to the Amambay Police Department, the man was close to an intentional homicide investigated by teams in the Defensores del Chaco neighborhood when he began to act suspiciously on public roads.

During the check, it was identified that he was the target of arrest warrants for the crimes of international drug trafficking, criminal association and illegal possession of a weapon in Joinville, a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina.

The inspector on duty, Felix Cantaluppi from Penal Unit No. 7, ordered the detainee’s transfer to the investigation headquarters after a medical evaluation. The forensic team was summoned to carry out tests and the captured person should be handed over to national forces next Monday (6).
