Suspect of killing app drivers is investigated for murdering elderly couple in MT | Mato Grosso

During the interrogation, the police raised suspicions of his participation in the previous crime due to the similarity between the cases and because he was mentioned by one of the prisoners at the time of the elderly people’s death.

He was arrested on the 15th of this month, along with the arrest of two teenagers investigated for crimes against drivers.

According to the Civil Police, the suspect was taken from the Central State Penitentiary (PCE), where he is being held, to the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP) for interrogation.

The person responsible for listening to the young man was delegate Alexandre Kemp and, according to him, the suspect did not admit to being the perpetrator of the double robbery of the elderly.

The crime was recorded in July 2022 at the residence of the couple, Maria Aparecida Soares Alves, 75 years old, and Juarez Rodrigues do Nascimento, 85 years old, located in the rural area of ​​Nova Monte Verde.

The elderly were found dead in different rooms. Juarez was found with his hands tied in front of the house and his wife in the bathroom. In the residence, there were signs of a struggle, with several blood stains on the floor.

According to the police, a suspect was arrested at the time and revealed the 21-year-old’s involvement in the robbery of the elderly couple. However, the investigation, at that time, did not gather enough elements to order the arrest of the other suspect.

According to the incident report, Maria Aparecida’s room was ransacked and it was not possible to locate her personal documents or money. In the other room, approximately R$7,200 in cash were found.

On Monday (15), the young man under investigation was arrested and two minors, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murders. They confessed to the crimes to the police.

According to the delegate, the group called the race through a woman’s app. After boarding, the driver was arrested, they announced a robbery, said it was just a robbery, took them to an open area and killed them.

For the delegate, the group acted like ‘serial killers’ and aimed to kill one a day. He believes there are more people involved in the crimes.

In a statement, Keise’s defense said that she was “pressured by the boys, she lent her cell phone so they could call the first Uber, but she was not aware of what they intended to do”.

Also on Friday (19), the Fifth Criminal Court of Várzea Grande issued an arrest warrant against Akcel Lopes Campos, aged 20, suspected of being the fifth person involved in the robbery, suspected of being the fifth person involved in the robbery

Elizeu, Marcio and Nilson disappeared after leaving for work. The three vehicles used by the drivers were rented and were located in Bairro Cristo Rei, in Várzea Grande.

Police believe that the vehicles were left in the same location, possibly to ‘cool down’, an action that involves leaving the stolen item for a certain period of time to see if it is traceable.

According to the police, the vehicles have already undergone forensic examination and investigations are ongoing. The case remains under investigation at the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
