Brazilian team beat Australia in the pre-Olympic semifinals

The women’s 3×3 basketball team lost on Sunday (5) in Japan in the pre-Olympic semi-finals of the sport and lost 18-16 to Brazil, which will not compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The duel was balanced. Brazil started early, but the Australians managed to turn the situation around. The game was tied at 12:12 pm, but the Brazilians did not advance in the table from that moment on.

Clarissa dos Santos, Luana Souza, Taina Silva and Vitoria Marcelino were part of the Brazilian team that participated in the qualifiers. Australia beat Canada 19-16 and qualified for the Paris Olympics after beating Brazil 19-16.

Brazil’s last chance to have a basketball team at the Olympics is in the regular men’s sport. The Brazilians will participate in the pre-Olympic games in Latvia, at the beginning of July. Other teams (conventional women’s and women’s and men’s 3×3 teams) are out of the Paris Games.
