Leila Pereira will testify on May 16th, as will the president of São Paulo, Julio Casares. Before that, on April 29th, it will be the turn of former referee Glauber do Amaral Cunha – see full schedule below.
The information was published by the Jornal The globe. As the report states, the CPI also intends to invite players from São Paulo who played in the Brazilian Championship last year.
What does John Textor point out?
As the report points out, “Good Game“, raised by the CEO of Botafogo, John Textor, owner of SAF do Botafogo, there were behavioral deviations from São Paulo players in the 5-0 defeat to Palmeiras, in the 2023 Brasileirão.
Last Tuesday night (23), the president of Palmeiras gave an interview to Roda Viva, on TV Cultura, and called the businessman “crazy” and cited the game against Tricolor.
“He keeps talking and proves absolutely nothing. I think this is an aberration, a shame. Many people wonder: why is he saying this? Romário asked if he wanted to sell Botafogo”said the president, during an interview with Roda Vivaat TV Cultura.
“The club is losing 3-0, in the first half, in the second half 3-1, in the 37th minute a penalty and then… that historic turnaround of 4-3. What manipulation is there? What manipulation do you have when you beat São Paulo 5-0? When would the SP hand over to its archrival? This is crazy“, he said.
