Textor stated that “according to experts and artificial intelligence”, Palmeiras’ victory over São Paulo was manipulated by at least five São Paulo players.
Textor also states that he has evidence, even without showing it, of manipulation in another Palmeiras defeat, but in Brasileirão 2022, against Fortaleza.
He says that the CBF received notification in two separate emails on the afternoon of May 16, 2023, warning about the alleged manipulation.
Textor used the same argument: “according to experts and artificial intelligence”, at least four Fortaleza players manipulated the game.

São Paulo Futebol Clube has become aware of and vehemently repudiates the serious and unfounded accusations of participation of athletes from the Tricolor squad in result manipulation made by the owner of SAF Botafogo. Such an assertion without any trace of proof attacks the suitability of players on the male professional squad and the honesty of the São Paulo FC institution in its 94-year history. The club has already activated its legal department, which will study and take the appropriate legal measures.
