An unusual offer on Shopee caught the attention of football fans in recent days: a seller began advertising, last Sunday (31/04), several replicas of team shirts for just R$1, causing a stir on social media. This Monday (01/04), after several confirmed sales, the store was permanently banned by Shopee for non-compliance with the platform’s rules.

The store, identified as “_haoyuelaibr.br”, started advertising shirts from São Paulo football teams at a ridiculous price on Sunday, but soon started offering uniforms from other national and even international teams. It didn’t take long for the offer, which seemed too good to be true, to go viral on X, formerly Twitter.

Throughout this Monday, R$1 shirts on Shopee were among the most talked about topics on the social network. Several users published records of purchases made, and some even ordered up to 50 uniforms. Others, more suspicious, joked about the “suspicious” offer.

With its success on social media, news of the unusual offer soon reached those responsible for monitoring Shopee stores. According to the company, the seller did not comply with the platform’s rules, which is why the products were removed from the website and banned permanently.

“We require our sellers to comply with our policies, as well as local government regulations, and we take strict action against sellers who do not comply. In addition, we provide training to raise awareness about compliance with all these rules”, says the company’s statement.

Shopee also reinforces that customers are entitled to a refund when the product is not delivered, according to the rules listed on the website.

As the internet is unforgiving, the “disappearance” of the store on Shopee also became the subject of jokes on joked one user.
