In an interview for the program “Sem Censura”, on TV Brasil, this Monday (29), Pasquim commented on the difficulties he faced during the soap opera, where he played the character Esteban. He highlighted that he went through the entire plot with panic syndrome, which surprised presenter Cissa Guimarães.
The actor also mentioned that he faced a similar situation during the previous soap opera “O Quinto dos Infernos” (2002), when he needed to seek medical help and start treatment to deal with panic syndrome. He joked about mentioning that he needed to “do some business” to get through this difficult period.
Pasquim explained that he used medications for four years and gradually stopped using them until he was completely free. He attributed overwork and stress as the main factors that contributed to this delicate mental health condition.
When asked if exposure to the media influenced his mental health at that time, the actor agreed that it was a set of factors that led to this stressful situation. He mentioned that fame can take away freedom and highlighted the importance of learning to say no to preserve your mental health.
Finally, he also recalled that, due to the intense recording routine, he asked for changes to his character in “Kubanacan” to have more time to rest. He highlighted the importance of learning from these experiences and taking care of mental health.
“I remember that, three months into recording, I was exhausted and asked the author to give me some relief. Maybe shoot the character and leave him in a coma. That’s what happened: Esteban was shot and went into a coma “, remembered.
