This Wednesday morning (27), Palmeiras held their last training session before facing Novorizontino, in the semi-final of Paulistão 2024. Back at Allianz Parque after two months, the players in the squad were able to do an activity and get to know the new lawn at Verdão’s house, recently renovated by Soccer Grass.

Tomorrow’s game will be Palmeiras’ first after the renovation of the pitch, which saw more than 50 tons of the old thermoplastic removed, which has now been replaced by another compound.

Alessandro Oliveira, CEO of the company that takes care of the lawn at Allianz Parque, gave an interview to ‘GE’ and revealed details of what the new carpet at Verdão’s house will look like, which received 22 tons of cork, the new compound that will be used to cushion the footsteps of athletes on the grass.

– In terms of temperature, it will be a more pleasant field and closer to natural grass. The industry has been seeking this, to equalize. With this organic solution, it manages to overcome the temperature issue, it is much closer to natural grass – summarized Alessandro.

Soccer Grass also understands that the new pitch at Allianz Parque will be more comfortable for Verdão players and also for visitors who face the current two-time Brazilian champion at their home ground.

– With this material in place, we see that the comfort is a little better than it was before, it (cork) is softer. I would say it is a fourth generation system, the most modern we have today and still the closest to a natural lawn – concluded Alessandro Oliveira.

Last week, the Palmeiras Under-20s trained on the new pitch at Allianz Parque, and an important athlete from Verdão’s youth category told Lance! that the stadium’s new carpet is better than the old one, and that, at least for him, it is more than approved to play professionally.

Endrick, Murilo and Richard Rios, who arrived this morning from Europe, also participated in training in a more regenerative way and should be included for the duel against Bragantino.

The ball rolls for Palmeiras x Novorizontino on Thursday (28), starting at 9:35 pm (Brasília time), and the game will be broadcast on TV Record, Cazé TV and TNT/HBO Max.
