King Charles III’s health worsens and funeral script is updated

On February 2, King Charles III confirmed his diagnosis of prostate cancer. Since then, the King of the United Kingdom has been undergoing treatment for the disease and, with a significant worsening in his health, details surrounding his funeral have been updated frequently.

The information is from The Daily Beast website. A source close to the British Royal Family reported that the king’s health is worrying. The script still has hundreds of pages and began to be prepared the day after Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The mother of King Charles III died on September 8, 2022, aged 96.

The monarch has remained out of the spotlight since the cancer announcement, as has Kate Middleton. His daughter-in-law is also undergoing treatment for the disease, although the location or type of cancer has not yet been revealed.

“It’s clear he’s determined to beat the disease and they’re betting everything on that. Everyone remains optimistic, but he’s actually in very bad shape, more than they’re letting on (…) The plans have been reviewed and are constantly being updated” , the source clarified.

The dossier involving the funeral of King Charles III is titled Operation Menai Bridge, following the tradition of naming funeral plans with bridges. In the case of Queen Elizabeth II, it was called Operation London Bridge.

“It’s clear they are looking at every aspect of the Menai Bridge. The Queen’s funeral went like clockwork and set a high standard. It’s not an emotional thing, it’s work taken very seriously and it’s absolutely understandable that no one plans to get caught by surprise,” he added.

“You need a massive security operation, because all the most important people on the planet will be there. We’re talking about a whole apparatus, from missile defense to protection against an isolated attack. And since any death can happen suddenly, every detail will be meticulously planned in advance”, he concluded.
