Catalonia’s two main sports dailies used the same word for Real Madrid’s classification: “Controversial”. “Mundo Deportivo” highlighted that Barcelona’s rival’s classification was “epic”, but pointed out the referee’s “serious error”, citing the play in which Simon Marciniak whistled for offside moments before De Ligt scored a goal in the last minute. “Sport” indicated that the Dutchman’s goal was “unfairly disallowed”.
