In the city of Yasuj, Iran, an unusual (although not rare) event occurred. The city was surprised by a rain of fish, recorded in images shared on social media.
Although it may seem strange, this phenomenon is not unprecedented and has a scientific explanation, as reported by Your Weather.
According to the same source, under vertically developing clouds, tornadoes can form that extend from the base of the cloud to the ground. When these tornadoes pass over the sea or lakes, they can suck up fish or other marine animals and carry them in their currents for long distances.
As tornadoes slow down, fish are thrown out.
