An accident involving a trailer and a pickup truck left people injured on TO-336, near Colinas do Tocantins, in the north of the state. Due to the incident, two trucks that were on the road also ended up colliding.
The accident happened on Thursday afternoon (25), around 3:30 pm. According to preliminary information from firefighters, the driver of the trailer lost control and ended up overturning the vehicle. The truck driver was unable to stop in time and ended up under the truck.
The truck had four occupants, two of whom were rescued by people passing by on the highway. But two people were trapped in the wreckage and when firefighters arrived, they were conscious. The man had a suspected fracture in his right knee and abrasions on his forearm.
The woman had her legs stuck in the dashboard, had a fractured wrist, injuries to her face and complained of chest pain. After the rescue, the two were taken to Colinas Hospital.
Because of the accident, two trucks that were traveling along the road also ended up crashing. The second accident did not leave any serious injuries, only one of the drivers suffered bruises and was also taken by third parties to receive medical attention.
According to firefighters, the road had to be closed in both directions during the afternoon to treat the victims. Drivers who need to pass through the area must pay attention to detours on the highway.
