Unifique sent maintenance teams from Santa Catarina to Rio Grande do Sul to reestablish “as quickly as possible” the internet services affected by the historic flood that hit the neighboring state. The company from Santa Catarina reported on Monday night (6) that, until that moment, around 23 thousand customers were without connection to internet service via fiber optics.

According to the company, affected cities in the Taquari Valley have already had their services reestablished, with the exception of some most affected areas. On the other hand, municipalities in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre that are still under adverse conditions of flooding and lack of electricity are the most affected at the moment.

Unifique also informed that since the climatic events of September 2023, when there were also floods and landslides in areas of operation, the company has been removing points of presence (POPs) from areas susceptible to events, which has now minimized equipment losses.
“Unifique is helping the communities where it operates and expresses its solidarity with all the families and citizens of Rio Grande do Sul affected by the serious consequences resulting from the heavy rains in the state”, says the statement to the market.
