Training took place within the Qualifica Setu Gestores Municipais project, developed by the Paraná Tourism Secretariat, with monthly online meetings. This month’s theme meets the needs of city halls to prepare executive projects.

Municipal managers from all regions of the State participated, this Thursday (25), in a qualification on tourist signage. The importance of the signs and their characteristics were discussed, according to the messages they want to convey to visitors, in addition to technical criteria.

The online training took place as part of the “Qualifica Setu Gestores Municipais” project, run by the state Department of Tourism, which promotes monthly meetings with different themes.

The objective is to offer information so that tourism occurs in a more organized and quality manner in Paraná. For Setu’s Tourism Qualification coordinator, Anderson Muniz Canizella, the project creates possibilities for municipal managers to develop actions with greater impact in their regions.

“The more signposted a municipality or tourist attraction is, the more visitors it attracts. This is an indication that managers often fail to pay attention to, which is why we consider it important to promote this topic. From the moment managers invest in tourist signage, the work of promoting attractions is enhanced”, he said.

SIGNALING – To talk about this month’s theme, the meeting was in partnership with the Paraná Traffic Department (Detran-PR). Participants had contact with the main signaling systems used – light, sound and traffic lights –, among others, in addition to the concepts and parameters necessary to create an effective strategy for attracting travelers.

Another point highlighted was the importance of preparing executive projects following technical criteria, in accordance with the rules of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan), National Traffic Council (Contran) and Detran-PR. Setu technicians reinforced that a tourist signage project must also receive approval and validation from the Department.

“We felt this lack of information in many projects that we received at the Secretariat and, as a result, we were unable to proceed with the signs being installed. It is very important to clarify doubts and show the correct path so that Paraná is the most signposted and with the most agility”, highlighted Setu’s Management and Sustainability coordinator, Anna Vargas.
