App driver drags woman and child out of car after argument | Volta Redonda

Volta Redonda – An app driver is being sought by civil police officers from Deam (Specialized Police Station for Women’s Assistance) in Volta Redonda, after being caught on security cameras dragging a 37-year-old hairdresser and her daughter, just 5 years old, outside from the car, because of an argument about the route the driver was taking. The attack occurred on Sunday night (31), on Rua 2, in the Conforto neighborhood, in Volta Redonda.

The woman contacted Deam-VR and filed a police report, and now the driver is being sought by police officers from the specialized police station to provide clarification. She and her daughter suffered abrasions and were treated at the Dr. Nelson dos Santos Gonçalves Municipal Hospital (formerly Cais Aterrado).

According to the woman’s report, she and her daughter – along with the hairdresser’s sister and her 9-year-old son – took the app car in the Retiro neighborhood, heading to Eucaliptal. In the Conforto neighborhood, next to Eucaliptal, the driver claimed he was lost, and was reportedly irritated by the response from the hairdresser’s sister, who told him to “follow the GPS”.

The driver then stopped the car on Rua 238, still in Conforto, and ordered everyone to get out of the vehicle. The hairdresser’s sister and her son managed to get out of the car, but the driver started and continued the journey with the hairdresser and her daughter inside the vehicle. He stopped again on Rua 2, also in Conforto, and forcibly took the woman and child out of the car.

In the images captured by a security camera, it is possible to see the man stopping the car, opening the rear door of the vehicle and pulling the woman by the arm – with the child on her lap – out of the car. The woman falls to the ground and is dragged across the asphalt, still hugging the child. The driver then starts the car and drives away. The woman gets up and still manages to film the driver and the car.

Deam reported that the main delegate, Juliana Montes, has already requested the driver to be disconnected from the two platforms on which he is registered – as is customary in these cases – and the police are still looking for the man to provide clarification.
