On social media, a scene from the soap opera by Manoel Carlos, “Mulheres Apaixonadas”, went viral again on the web. Where by the pool, Susana Vieira’s character and her children call out to Neide, the maid played by Hylka Maria. However, now the artist has decided to speak out about the role.

In a post on Instagram, the actress commented on the character, implying that she was tricked into accepting the role. “Imagine for someone who played Neide and read in the synopsis that there would be a love triangle with Rafael Calomeni and Suzana Vieira, and it never happened?”, she began, with supposed irony.

Then, she mentioned other characters who would play alongside her and were not present in the plot: “Not to mention the fact that the 2 actors cast and hired to be her father and brother who never appeared on air. We held on in silence and still had to be grateful”, concluded Hylka Maria.

After the artist’s report, the comment divided opinions among internet users. “In the maneco soap operas, the maid has no life outside of work, she has no home, no family or friends,” said a follower. “Literally Racist! I’m so sorry,” lamented another. “Soap operas are and have always been open works, which are written as the plot progresses according to the public’s reaction”, pondered another.
