Hip Hip RS Culture Museum launches five notices with public call for projects from across the state

On Saturday, the 6th, the Museu da Cultura Hip Hop RS opens the first call for the Vem Pro Museu Program. The permanent notice aims to receive proposals from institutions, collectives and hip hop artists from across the state of Rio Grande do Sul, to integrate the Museum’s programming over the next 14 months.

The Vem Pro Museu Program includes five notices in the areas:

Museum exhibitions, sporting events, writers, cultural events, musical production and musical recording. In addition, a form for receiving other proposals is also available, so that the Museum can receive projects for activities that do not comply with the rules of the notices.

First call

To participate in this first call, interested parties must register through the Museum’s official networks – click here – from April 6th, with a deadline of April 30th. The result of this first call will be announced on May 6th.

The registered projects will be analyzed by a curator composed of representatives of each element of hip hop culture: graffiti, breaking, MC, DJ and knowledge. The Vem Pro Museu Program is permanent and new calls will be announced throughout the year.

Budget

With a total budget of R$270,000, projects can submit proposals in accordance with the rules of each notice.

The Vem Pro Museu Program is part of the agenda of the Hip Hop RS Culture Museum, which is funded by the Federal Culture Incentive Law and master sponsorship by Petrobras. Carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Federal Government, Union and Reconstruction.

Launch event

Saturday, 6th, from 2pm to 5pm, the program launch event takes place at the Museu da Cultura Hip Hop RS, in Porto Alegre.

The program includes shows by Cristal and DJ Nezzo, as well as a breaking performance with DJAN, graffiti with Erick Citron, a conversation with Tamboreiro and a guided visit with an educational action.

Museum Exhibitions

This call seeks to receive proposals for museum exhibitions from hip hop artists and collectives to be part of the programming of the Museu da Cultura Hip Hop RS.

In this first call, three projects will be awarded a total of R$100,000. The selected exhibitions will be on display for around three months each, in the Hip Hop Criado na Rua room. For more information, access the notice herefrom April 6th.

Sports event

Proposals for free sports competitions will be selected, with preference for hip hop cultural entities and collectives in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Projects can be registered in the modalities of breaking, skateboarding, 3×3 basketball and 7-a-side football.

In this first call, four projects will be awarded a total of R$40,000. After the organization period, the sporting events will take place on a day to be defined, at Quadra Petrobras or on the football court in the square in front of the Museu de Cultura Hip Hop RS. Writers

This call for proposals seeks to receive proposals from writers of books, comics and/or author fanzines. The idea is to integrate the RS Hip Hop Culture Museum’s programming with free literary, poetic or visual presentations for the public.

In this first call, 14 projects will be awarded for a total of R$27,000. The selected writers will have their proposals executed during a day of programming, at the Divilas Library. For more information, access the notice here.from April 6th.

Cultural events

The Museum’s calendar includes six events over the next 14 months. And to compose the attractions of these events, DJs, MCs, graffiti artists and breaking dancers will be selected through this call.

In this first call, 44 artists will be awarded a total of R$90,000. After the organization period, the artists will have their presentations at Multipalco, according to the six events. For more information, access the notice herefrom April 6th.

Production and Recording

This call seeks to receive proposals from artists for musical production (beat, recording, mixing and mastering) of rap songs. The songs will be released by the Hip Hop RS Culture Museum Studio.

In this first call, fifty projects will be included. Those selected will have four hours of production and recording at DEEJAY ONLY JAY Studio. For more information, access the notice herefrom April 6th.

RS Hip Hop Culture Museum also provides a form

The Vem Pro Museu Program, in addition to the five notices, also announces the launch of a fixed form, available on the official website of the Museu da Cultura Hip Hop RS – access herefrom April 6th.

Through this form, proposals for activities from artists, collectives and institutions linked to hip hop culture, sport and education from across the state of Rio Grande do Sul can be sent.

The idea is that the Museum’s curatorship will be supplied with projects that do not fit into the norms of the notices throughout the year.

Hip Hip RS Culture Museum – @leo_zanini-6

Located at Rua Parque dos Nativos 545, Vila Ipiranga, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, the Museum is open for visits from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, including holidays. During this period, you can choose between scheduled or free visits.

Scheduled visits take place twice a day, at 9am and 2pm, and are intended for groups of up to 50 people. To schedule a visit, simply access the scheduling form – click here.

Every scheduled visit is guided by mediators who lead the group with explanations about the exhibits on display.

Free visits are open to the public and no appointment is required. In this modality, if the interested party wishes to be guided by the mediators, simply arrive at the Museum at the time the scheduled visits begin to participate with the group of the day.

About the RS Hip Hop Culture Museum

Opened in the year of the fiftieth anniversary of hip hop in the world, the Hip Hop RS Culture Museum is the first in Latin America dedicated to the movement.

With a space of four thousand square meters, the Museum is a collective initiative of the Associação da Cultura Hip Hop de Esteio, and aims to strengthen other Brazilian states to create museums, organizing a network capable of building the Brazilian Museum of Hip Hop Culture over the next five years.

The complex has around six thousand physical and digital collection items on the history of Gaucho hip hop. Inspired by The Universal Hip Hop Museum in the United States, it has exhibition rooms, a workshop, cafe, store, agroecological greenhouse, library, music studio, multi-stage and the Petrobras Court.
