Police search for thieves who stole computers from schools in Rio

Agents from three specialized police stations carried out an operation on Tuesday (30) to serve temporary arrest warrants against two men accused of stealing computers and monitors that were to be delivered to public schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro.ebc.gif?id=1593074&o=node

The police action took place in the Kelson’s community and Parque União, in the north of Rio. The crime occurred on February 3rd of this year. On that date, a group of criminals invaded the warehouse of a company in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, and stole 246 computers and 264 monitors. The agents recovered the material two days after the robbery, during a joint action by the Robbery and Narcotics police departments.

Investigations revealed that at least ten members of the criminal association specializing in robbery participated in the crime. Armed with rifles and pistols, the bandits threatened and stole cell phones from several company employees.

During the investigations, agents identified two targets of Tuesday’s operation and that the pair had prior records with the police for the crime of robbery. They are considered fugitives. The Civil Police emphasizes that reports about the whereabouts of criminals can be made at any police station or through the Hotline. They are Lucas Wendel Meireles do Nascimento, known as LC, and Alisson Lucas dos Santos, known as Alisson Pepa.

Investigations continue to identify other members of the criminal association who participated in the robbery.
