The Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS) participated, on Monday, April 1st, in the first meeting of RS Seguro in which the State Security leadership was present in Capão da Canoa. Prosecutor Sávio Vaz Fagundes, from Capão da Canoa, represented the institution at the monthly management meeting to evaluate crime indicators and strategic alignment.
Present at this meeting in the municipality of Litoral Norte were the Secretary of State Security, Sandro Caron, the deputy secretary, Colonel Mário Ikeda, the general commander of the Military Brigade, Colonel Cláudio Feoli, the deputy chief of Police, delegate Heraldo Guerreiro, among others authorities.
According to prosecutor Sávio Vaz Fagundes, several issues of interest to public security in the city were discussed in the “Meeting A3 of the RS Seguro Program”, among them, analysis of statistical data, some specific situations in Capão da Canoa, strategies for combating crime.
“The importance of maintaining the integration of Security Forces in the municipality to achieve common objectives in the field of public security and continue to advance positive indicators of crime control was also highlighted,” said the prosecutor.
RS SAFE
According to the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), since March 2022, RS Seguro has been coordinated by the Governor’s Office and has an executive committee made up of several Secretaries of State. The program, launched in 2019, operates with a territorial focus, in areas with indicators of higher crime and socioeconomic vulnerability, presenting short, medium and long-term planning, always respecting the State’s fiscal context.
Based on studies on crime, recognizing that violence is an issue that goes beyond security, also representing social and economic challenges, the government of Rio Grande do Sul created RS Seguro with structuring measures, guided by the tripod of guidelines: integration, intelligence and investment qualified.
