During the month of May, the DF Public Security Secretariat (SSP-DF) and the DF security forces — Traffic Department (Detran-DF), Military Police (PMDF), Fire Department (CBMDF) and Civil Police (PCDF) — will carry out coordinated actions in reference to the “Peace in traffic begins with you” campaign, with the aim of encouraging society as a whole to reflect on citizens’ peaceful attitudes in their daily lives as pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, drivers or road users. public transportation. The Department of Highways (DER-DF) will also participate in the actions.

The opening event of the actions of the Yellow May 2024 movement will be held this Thursday (2), from 2:30 pm to 7 pm, in the parking lot of the BRB Nilson Nelson Arena. During the opening day of the movement, exhibitions of vehicles and equipment will be held, as well as fun activities for children from shared management schools.

The Archdiocese of Brasília will also support the campaign, sharing the material in churches during masses and catechesis. At dusk, the external lighting of the BRB Mané Garricha Arena will be changed to yellow, thus marking the beginning of activities in the Federal District.

The activities are linked to the Safer City Axis, of the DF Mais Seguro – Integral Security program, with road safety actions being priorities for the SSP and linked bodies so that citizens have the right to safe traffic and efficient urban mobility.
