FESTIN releases its full program

Children’s theater plays a fundamental role in audience development and in the artistic and creative education of children and adolescents. With the aim of providing a democratic and free performing arts program for families in Paraná, FESTIN – Paraná International Children’s Theater Festival – reaches its 5th edition presenting award-winning shows in different languages ​​in the city of Cascavel, western region of Paraná, which is among the five most populous municipalities in the state.

The event, which will occupy theaters, parks, squares and public spaces in the city of Paraná for free, will feature 25 performances by more than 10 theater companies, coming from different regions of Brazil and countries such as Mexico, Peru and Portugal.

“We are very happy to once again promote free, quality art for families in the western region of Paraná. Children’s theater contributes to the development, cognitive stimulation and observation, guides oral, playful and, mainly, the creativity of children and young people, even more so in times of the digital world. Help with the first steps towards a promising future. Festin has a program completely designed for different families and their realities”, explains the cultural producer and director of the Paraná International Children’s Theater Festival, Bruna Bayley.

The opening, which will take place on May 14th, at 7:30 pm, at the Sefrin Filho Municipal Theater, will feature, in addition to the ceremony, a presentation of the show “Monstro e Cia”, in the language of theater in animated forms by Companhia Talagadá (São Paulo ), which addresses a debate about the bullyinga subject of great importance for raising awareness among children and adolescents in today’s world.

Award-winning and critically successful attractions will take place at the event, such as “O Poderoso de Marte”, by Teca Teatro (Bahia), “O Launcher de Foguetes”, by Cia. De legs pro Ar (Rio Grande do Sul), “El Secreto Del Árbol”, by Pepito Ron Teatro de Mimo y Títeres (Peru), “Desamor” and “Encantos”, by La Máquina Núcleo de Criação Artística (Portugal), “Jardim – Um Solo Poético para Crianças”, by Tecer Teatro (Paraná ), “#Mergulho”, by Eranos Círculo de Arte (Rio Grande do Sul), “Afuera”, by Teatro Al Vacío (Argentina/Mexico), among others.

Closing the program, the long-awaited show “The Lion King”, also at the Municipal Theater on May 19th, at 7:30 pm, in a free adaptation by L’art Produções (Santa Catarina), a success with the public and which focuses on important values ​​such as forgiveness, family unity and generosity.

We sought a selection that was democratic and produced high-quality, award-winning and successful audiences in various regions of Latin America. This will be an opportunity for families, fathers and mothers, educators in the western region of Paraná to present exquisite shows for their children and teenagers from companies that are a reference in the performing arts for children and young people, with varied language and themes. All of this for free”, adds Bruna Bayley, who also curates FESTIN Paraná, alongside Cynthia Borges, a graduate and specialist in Theater from the Faculty of Arts of Paraná, and Cleiton Echeveste, actor, playwright, bachelor and master in Performing Arts.
