Walewska’s widower demands rent from ex-in-laws in court, says website < No Attack

The relationship between the parents of Walewska, a former volleyball player, and widower Ricardo Alexandre Mendes is quite troubled. After the former athlete’s death, her family moved to one of the properties that belonged to Walewska. The ex-husband, however, wants to charge rent so that they can remain in the place.

Last year, in fact, family members said that the ex-husband was unworthy of the former athlete’s inheritance. According to Leo Dias PortalRicardo requested action from Walewska’s inventory and was successful – the request was granted by the judge.

The lawyers then pointed out that “until the eventual vacancy of the property”, Maria Aparecida Moreira and Geraldo Vieira de Oliveira, Walewska’s parents, must “pay rent”, in addition to “accounting for all obligations advanced, notably payment of condominium fees, IPTU, water and electricity bills, among others”.

The point is that both Walewska’s parents and Ricardo have rights to the property. However, the widower maintains the partial collection of rent from his ex-in-laws, in the part that corresponds to him – around 68.97% of the apartment.

Therefore, according to what was indicated by the lawyers, the former athlete’s parents should pay R$2,070 in rent, since the average for a similar property would be R$3,000.

Walewska’s death

Walewska Oliveira, died on September 21st after falling from the 17th floor of a building in São Paulo. The Olympic champion left four letters before she died.

Former volleyball player Virna, Walewska’s maid of honor, received one of these letters.

“People still don’t know, but she left four letters: one for her father and mother, one for her brother, for her best friend, Gustavo, and a letter for me and Bernardinho. It was very tough. It’s sad, Wal took her life because of her husband”, said Virna.

In an interview with Sportbuzzthis week, she revealed some messages left by her friend.

“She experienced a somewhat oppressive relationship and was unable to ask for help. When her husband asked for separation, it turned out that he had a child out of wedlock and she freaked out as she had been waiting to be a mother for a long time,” Virna revealed.
