Between the 25th and 31st of March, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) participated in Operation Mar de Minas III, an inspection action promoted in the Lago de Furnas region, in Minas Gerais, to increase flight safety and contribute for the consequent reduction in aviation accident rates.
The fiscal action, concentrated in the municipalities of Capitão, Poços de Caldas and São Sebastião do Paraíso, focused on the repression of illicit activities related to the provision of irregular air services and aeronautical maintenance.
The Agency’s participation involved 8 employees, 6 of which were in the operation on site and another 2 in remote coordination. In addition to federal bodies, such as ANAC, the Minas Gerais government’s action was coordinated by the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security of Minas Gerais (Sejusp), mobilizing police forces and other local agents.
Among the targets, 2 aircraft, 4 aeronauts and air service operators were investigated in a total of 8 inspection points. There were no precautionary measures applied and aircraft seizures during Operation Mar de Minas III.
