After the great repercussion surrounding the case of the two women who have practically been living in the McDonalds of Leblon, the company called an internal meeting to discuss the situation. The nationwide meeting was requested by the owner of the branch in the Rio neighborhood. The chain’s legal department is evaluating the possibility of taking legal action against the two women for consumer abuse.
During the meeting, sources report that the businessman expressed his frustration with the situation, highlighting that he is in a delicate position, as the women, identified as Suzy and Bruna, are regular customers of the establishment. He mentioned having sought assistance from Rio’s city hall, however, the women refused any form of assistance, whether from public authorities or local residents.
A team from the Women’s Secretariat and the Rio Social Assistance Secretariat was dispatched to the location, however, their contact was refused by the women. Social workers from the Segurança Presente program also tried to intervene, but were received hostilely and were unable to register Suzy and Bruna. Furthermore, any attempt at contact by residents, businesspeople or military police officers was rejected by the women.
The case, reported by CBN and reported here on RIVER DIARY this Thursday (25/04), generated a wide debate among the residents of Rio de Janeiro. Women have been observed with at least five large suitcases, spending their days on the sidewalk in front of the establishment, located on the corner of the streets Carlos Góis It is Ataulfo de Paiva, one of the most coveted addresses in the neighborhood. They claim to be looking for a rental in the region for up to R$1,200, however, due to high prices in the neighborhood, they have faced difficulties in finding a solution to their housing situation.
