Furthermore, the Fundação Universidade Empresa de Tecnologia e Ciências (Fundatec), the competition’s organizing committee, based in Porto Alegre, reported the impossibility of guaranteeing the logistics for carrying out the test on the scheduled date.
Therefore, the exams for the public defender exam in the State of Paraná will be applied on a new date, which has not yet been defined.
When the situation in the Southern Region of the country is normalized, a notice will be published informing the new test date, as well as the new schedule for the next stages.
A statement signed by the acting public defender of the State of Paraná, Bruno Muller, was published on the competition page. Check out:
“Due to the heavy rains and the calamity situation in Rio Grande do Sul, with several border crossings and closed airports, and in view of the statement from the Fundação Universidade Empresa de Tecnologia e Ciências, organizer of the V Contest and based in Porto Alegre/RS, the application of the Theoretical-Objective Tests that would be carried out on 05/12/2024 is SUSPENDED. As soon as the situation is normalized, a notice will be published informing the new test date, as well as the new schedule for the next stages”.
On social media, candidates demand quick communication about the new test date, as many had plane tickets and accommodation booked for Curitiba, the exam location, and need to reschedule them.

Other competitions have already had tests suspended due to heavy rains in the South Region, such as the Unified National Competition (CNU) and the selection for the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro).
DPE PR competition offers vacancies for public defender
The Public Defender’s Office of the State of Paraná opened its competition in March. The offer is for an immediate vacancy plus reserve registration, for a career as a defender.
The requirement for registration was a higher education degree in Law, in addition to professional practice of at least three years.
Registration remained open until the beginning of April, on the Fundatec website, the competition’s organizing committee. The fee to complete the process was R$250.
The initial remuneration of the successful candidate will be R$24,662.77.

What will the DPE PR competition tests be like?
The DPE PR competition will consist of four phases:
- phase 1: theoretical-objective test;
- phase 2: essay test;
- phase 3: oral test; It is
- phase 4: proof of titles.
The objective test, for example, will require 100 questions regarding four groups of content:
- A group: Constitutional Law (ten questions), Child and Adolescent Law (nine questions) and Human Rights (nine questions)
- Group B: Criminal Law and Criminology (14 questions) and Criminal Law and Criminal Execution (14 questions)
- Group C: Civil Law (seven questions), Civil Procedural Law (seven questions), Diffuse and Collective Rights (seven questions) and Consumer Law (seven questions).
- Group D: Administrative and Financial Law (five questions), Philosophy of Law and Legal Sociology (five questions) and Institutional Principles and Attributions of the Public Defender’s Office of the State of Paraná (six questions).
The objective test will be worth a total of 100 points. To be considered approved, the participant must obtain at least 50% of the total points predicted (minimum of seven points in groups A, B and C and at least four points in group D).
For the essay tests, the DPE PR competition foresees the following number of candidates:
- 400 first classified in the Broad Competition list;
- 300 first classified among those registered in the reserve of places for People of African Descent;
- 100 first classified among those registered in the reserve of places for People with Disabilities;
- 30 first classified among those registered in the reserve of places for Indigenous people; It is
- 20 best placed among those registered in the reservation of vacancies for Trans People.
The essay test will consist of two procedural pieces (limited to a maximum of 120 lines) and eight discursive questions (limited to 25 lines).
According to the notice, for this stage, the candidate can consult the legislation only through Vade Mecum (with ISBN, not commented, not interpreted and not annotated).
The oral test of the competition, in turn, will consist of candidates being questioned by members of the examining board, on any topic, covering matters contained in the syllabus.
