Apac warns of moderate to heavy rain in three regions of the state; find out where and until when | Pernambuco

The Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency (Apac) issued, this Monday (6), a rain alert with moderate to heavy intensity, for the Big RecifeThe Wood zone and the Agreste of State. The city hall of the capital of Pernambuco advised residents of at-risk locations to seek safe shelters, if necessary.

The alert is valid from this Monday afternoon until 11pm on Tuesday (7) and has the “attention state” risk level, which is the second most serious.

• This rain forecast was caused by the approach of the Eastern Wave Disturbance meteorological system, also called Eastern Waves;
• East Waves are disturbances in the wind and pressure field that act in the tropical zone of the Earth and move from the coast of Africa to the east coast of Brazil;
• In practice, what happens is the formation of rain clouds due to the circulation of wind currents that come from the African continent, pass through the Atlantic Ocean and reach the Northeast of Brazil;
• This system should act more in Zona da Mata Sul and Agreste Meridional because of its movement further south in the state;
• As there is a risk of reaching some areas further north in the state, the warning was extended to the entire coast of Pernambuco.
