Doctor suspected of raping niece and nanny is arrested after being found with weapons and ammunition | Tocantins

The doctor suspected of raping his own niece and a nanny was arrested this Tuesday morning (30) in Paraíso do Tocantins, in the central region of the state. According to the Civil Police, he was found with unregistered weapons and ammunition.

Both the doctor, who is 66 years old, and his wife are being investigated and have been charged with two cases of rape. For the police, the woman knew about the abuse and did nothing to prevent or report it. Their names were not released.

The second case came to light a week later. The second victim was a 25-year-old woman who worked as a nanny for the doctor. She reported being abused when she was 15 years old and decided to report it after learning about the first accusation. She also said that she did not go to the police at the time because she was allegedly threatened by the doctor’s wife.

In addition to being abused, according to the police, she also witnessed the abuse committed against the first victim, the couple’s niece, who also lived in the house.

After the indictment, both cases were sent to the judiciary.

The police reported that on Tuesday morning (30) they carried out an operation to execute search warrants and arrest the doctor’s house in a third investigation. During the action, the police found three weapons, in addition to 180 ammunition and accessories without proper registration.

“The man and his wife had already been indicted in two cases related to rape, and today’s operation resulted from a third investigation, which seeks to verify possible threats to the people involved”, said the regional delegate of Paraíso, José Lucas Melo.

All the weapons seized were sent for forensic examination. The suspected doctor was caught in the act and sent to the Paraíso Provisional Prison House (CPPP).

Teams from the 6th Specialized Police Station for Assistance to Women and Vulnerable Persons (DEAMV-Paraíso), the 63rd Police Station (DP-Paraíso) and the 6th Specialized Division for the Repression of Organized Crime (DEIC-Paraíso) participated in the operation.
