Sergipe receives 14 thousand doses of dengue vaccine

-

The State Department of Health (SES) announced the receipt of 14 thousand doses of the dengue vaccine. This immunization stage is aimed at the municipalities of Aracaju, Laranjeiras, Divina Pastora, Riachuelo, Barra dos Coqueiros, São Cristóvão and Santa Rosa de Lima.

Distribution to municipalities in Sergipe is subject to the arrival of a technical note from the Ministry of Health (MS), as informed by SES. The doses will be administered to children aged between 10 and 14 years.

The manager of the State Immunization Program, Illani Paulina, highlighted that the vaccine is quadrivalent, providing protection against viral serotypes circulating in the country. “The first dose will be applied, followed by the second dose after three months. It is crucial to highlight that vaccination against dengue aims to protect the population during periods of highest incidence of the disease”, explained Paulina.
