O Cataratas Group announces Evelyn Veloso as the company’s new financial director. She is the first woman to hold this position and joins a team of executives previously made up primarily of men.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) with an MBA in Business Management from IBMEC, Evelyn arrived at the company in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, when all of the group’s parks were closed for months and there were no revenue.
Regarding her promotion, Evelyn celebrates: “It is a privilege to be able to represent all the women in the group within senior management. We have an incredible team at all levels. I will certainly be the first of many.”
Over these almost four years, his work has been imbued with purpose linked to the company’s core business, in which the management of visits to natural attractions goes hand in hand with conscious consumption, inclusion and sustainability. His main mission at the moment is to continue the work done by the previous director, in addition to carrying out efficient cost management in the performance of the parks so that this can add even more value to the business.
For 12 years, the executive built her career at Brasil Brokers, a publicly traded company, where she developed part of her professional growth, joining as an intern and leaving as controller. Additionally, she participated in fiscal councils of publicly traded companies.
The Cataratas Group operates the Iguaçu National Park, Fernando de Noronha National Marine Park, Rio Marine Aquarium, BioParque do Rio, Paineiras Corcovado (operation of official vans to Christ the Redeemer) and the Marco das Três Fronteiras.
