Attraction of Tim Music Rio, Djavan will perform free show in Copacabana

TIM Music Rio, the biggest free music festival in Brazil, is back on the sands in the middle of Rio’s autumn. In 2024, the shows will take place once again at Posto 4 on Copacabana beach, during two weekends – on the 25th and 26th of May and the 1st and 2nd of June. And, as could not be otherwise, the line-up focuses on the selection of established artists and new names in Brazilian music, with emphasis on the diversity of national rhythms. Djavan from Alagoas, IZA – TIM ambassador, Gloria Groove, Marina Sena, Baco Exu from Blues, Rael, Preta Gil and Thiago Pantaleão take to the stage. And a tribute to samba singer Beth Carvalho will bring together Diogo Nogueira, Marvvila and Roberta Sá.

We cast artists from the most different rhythms, including MPB, pop, rap, among others, to guarantee entertainment for all audiences, and thus promote a great meeting of generations. To crown this great moment, a more than deserved tribute to ‘Godmother’ and inspiration of several renowned samba musicians, Beth Carvalho. Everything with the maximum quality that entertainment should have, with total security and organization.”

In its first two editions, big names in Brazilian music took the stage at TIM Music Rio, bringing together more than half a million people in Copacabana. In the first year, in 2022, the event presented Rio’s residents with a program of shows full of power and diversity with names such as Seu Jorge, Luiza Sonza, Xamã and Criolo. In its second edition, last year, it brought the star Caetano Veloso who made a historic presentation, as well as Daniela Mercury, Matuê, Liniker, BaianaSystem and Pretinho da Serrinha with Jorge Aragão.

TIM Music Rio is carried out through the Culture Incentive Law of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The shows have all the necessary infrastructure and support from public bodies and always take place between 4pm and 8pm.
