Man dies after being attacked by bees in northern Bahia

A retired military police officer died this Saturday morning (4), after being hit with bee stings. The attack took place inside his farm, in the rural area of ​​Juazeiro, a municipality in northern Bahia.

The officer was identified as Josinaldo da Silva Oliveira, 56 years old.

According to the PM, it is not yet known what the victim was doing when he suffered the attack. First aid was given by the Fire Department, which took the victim to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in the city, but she did not survive her injuries.

As reported by TV São Francisco, an affiliate of TV Bahia in the region, firefighters are still on duty, as Josinaldo’s car is full of bees. The work is to capture the insects and release the vehicle to the family.

In a statement, the communications department of the 45th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM/Curaçá) expressed its regret and solidarity with the officer’s family and friends. In addition to working in the Curaçá garrison, Josinaldo worked in the 3rd Military Battalion and the 76th CIPM, both in Juazeiro.
