Leila’s participation in CPI das Apostas poses a fatal blow to Textor’s reputation

The president of Palmeiras has maintained a high tone towards the leader, without shame in trying to maintain any trace of a good relationship with the businessman.

On the Roda Viva program last Monday (22), Leila called Textor an “idiot” and “crazy” when commenting on the matter.

– He keeps talking, talking, talking and proves absolutely nothing. It’s an aberration. A shame – he said.

For what the Trivela heard from people linked to the leader, Leila’s stance in relation to Textor in Brasília will be the same as seen until now.

Due to statements made on the day of that game, Textor, on Friday (26), was suspended for 45 days and fined R$100,000 by the STJD full court. Having already served part of the sentence last year, the North American will, in fact, have 17 days of punishment.

In a session that lasted approximately two hours, the court panel met with the parties involved and after much debate among the five voters about the size of the sentence, they decided to combine two separate punishments of 30 days and another of 15 days.

The amount of money will also be divided among the beneficiaries. R$50,000 will go to the coffers of the CBF, organizer of the tournament and target of Textor’s accusations, and the other R$50,000 will go to social charities previously registered with the judiciary.

Enough evidence

The North American gave a statement to the CPI last Monday (22). On the same date, he presented a 180-page report to support his claim that there is substantial evidence related to match-fixing in the Brazilian football scene.

After a long session that lasted more than three hours, the businessman held a confidential meeting in which he shared the material with the president of the CPI, Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO), the rapporteur and former player Romário (PL-RJ) , in addition to other senators present. Kajuru, upon having access to the content, expressed the opinion that there was “sufficient evidence to justify an investigation”.

It was as a result of this that Kajuru ended up summoning Leila Pereira to the May 22nd session.
