Given this, news such as the hasty withdrawal of a brand producing this food from the markets was frightening. This is because in January 2017, the “ Veja ” portal reported that Anvisa banned the manufacture, distribution, marketing and dissemination of a batch of the Favorito rice brand.

At the time, laboratory analyzes indicated excrement and rodent hair, as well as larvae and pieces of insects in batch 204 of the product, valid until February 25, 2017, which was packaged and distributed by the company Total Cesta Básica de Alimentos Ltda, in the city of Contagem. (MG).

According to the information, at the time, Anvisa considered that the elements found in the analyzes posed a risk to human health and therefore, it was determined that the sale of the batch was prohibited and that the company should collect stocks from the markets and that was precisely what they did. made.

According to information published on the Seu Crédito Digital portal, after the disclosure of the case and Anvisa’s determinations, the company Total Cesta Básica de Alimentos, responsible for the brand, acted quickly and collected all units from the affected batch that were still on the market. .
