A Bahia Tourism Secretariat (Setur-BA) presented actions aimed at LGBTQIAPN+ tourism during the 8th International Diversity Conference, which took place last week at the São Luís Events Center, in São Paulo. The event was attended by leaders and businesspeople from several countries, including Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Canada, the United States, Portugal and Spain.

The coordinator of Setur-BA’s LGBTQIAPN+ Tourism, the drag queen Petra Peron, emphasized Bahia’s dedication to standing out in the inclusive tourism scenario. “Our presence at major events and tourism fairs, both national and international, is proof of our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion”highlighted Petra.

Setur-BA took advantage of the conference to launch a new booklet that guides tourism service providers on serving the LGBTQIAPN+ public. The booklet is available on TurisQualy, a digital platform developed by the secretariat that offers free online courses focused on tourism.

Furthermore, the secretariat conducted a survey to understand how hotels, restaurants, transport companies and travel agencies are preparing to better welcome this segment, using the data collected to improve their inclusion strategies.

Among the most popular destinations in Bahia by the LGBTQIAPN+ public are Salvador, Itacaré and Maraú on the Costa do Cacau, Cairu on the Costa do Dendê, Lençóis on the Chapada Diamantina, Porto Seguro on the Costa do Descobrimento and Praia do Forte on the Costa dos Coqueiros.
