Dinga Bakaba, the director of Marvel’s Blade, gave an interesting statement about what he thinks about the next steps in the games industry. Taking Baldur’s Gate 3, chosen as the 2023 Game of the Year, as an example, he sees a more immersive future in certain multiplayer proposals.

It is worth mentioning that Bakaba took care of a temporary PS5 exclusive, Deathloop. In the title, players controlled characters who acted on opposite sides of a plot, where online multiplayer sessions function as if they were part of the story itself.

If the games manage to merge this immersion with the multiplayer proposal, the director of Marvel’s Blade sees an optimistic future around this. On his social networks, he commented the following:

It’s not my nindo, but after experiencing the multiplayer in “DEATHLOOP”, I feel like there is indeed some potential there. I wouldn’t call this an evolutionary step, more like a viable hybridization. The key is to make multiplayer systems diegetic enough to create a believable shared narrative/world.

Do you agree with Bakaba? The Blade game made by Arkane is not yet confirmed for PS5, however, it will not be a multiplayer proposal.
