The Amazonas Health Surveillance Foundation – Dr. Rosemary Costa Pinto (FVS-RCP), from the State Department of Health of Amazonas (SES-AM), participates, this Sunday (05/05), from 8am to 12pm, in the closure of the campaign for the rational use of medicines in 2024, coordinated by the Amazonas Regional Pharmacy Council (CRF-AM).

The event takes place in the Mindu Municipal Park, in Manaus, and concludes the campaign for the rational use of medicines in 2024. The action includes a series of activities aimed at promoting health and well-being, such as competitions, physical activities and various services free healthcare for the population.

During the event, participants have access to blood pressure measurement, impedance measurement, rapid testing for STIs/HIV, as well as guidance on the rational use of medications. The activities aim to raise awareness among the community about the importance of proper use of medicines and the risks of misuse or abuse.

“CRF-AM wanted to attract the population to the Rational Use of Medicines and brought activities with different audiences. These are ways of talking to people and making them understand that taking medication is serious. Self-medication is a problem that we seek to solve every day, in our profession”, says the president of CRF-AM, Kacio Souza.

The CEO of FVS-RCP, Tatyana Amorim, highlights that the main objective of the campaign is to promote awareness about the safe and rational use of medicines, reducing health risks arising from inappropriate use or self-medication.

“The focus is to educate the population about the dangers of the indiscriminate use of medicines, especially antibiotics and other controlled medicines, as well as encouraging healthy habits that reduce the need for medication,” said CEO Tatyana.

The person responsible for Health Surveillance at FVS-RCP, Jackson Alagoas, reinforces the need to raise awareness about the correct use of medicines. “Many accidents and health problems occur due to inappropriate or excessive use of medications.
