Weekend with violent traffic and deaths recorded in different parts of Tocantins

Mother’s Day weekend was full of traffic violence on the highways of Tocantins. In Augustinópolis, Bico do Papagaio region, Francisco Carlos de Sousa, 55 years old, died after falling off his motorcycle on TO-201, the victim was hit by a truck that was traveling along the highway. He died instantly.

On TO-262, between Pindorama and Silvanópolis, 39-year-old Kenedy Martins Vale died after the truck he was driving overturned and exploded off the road. An 18-year-old passenger managed to exit the vehicle without injury. On BR-153, near Wanderlândia, a trailer carrying oxen collided head-on with a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup, identified as Luciano Carvalho, died at the scene of the collision. The Federal Highway Police reported that one of the vehicles had forced overtaking.

In Gurupi, in the southern region of the state, two people also died in an accident in the urban perimeter. The motorcycle on which Jardel Soares Silva Moreira and Douglas Ribeiro da Mota were riding ended up crashing into a tree. The two victims did not resist and the forensic report will highlight other details of the accident. According to data from Detran-TO, from January until now, 132 people have died in traffic accidents recorded in the state.
